Life quickens all around us and inside us. It is record warm today, almost 50. The ice
shelves that hang suspended over the banks and icy floor of the woods where we walk,
begin to melt. They drip musically into the stream and river. The weather predicts rain
and I can feel that in my own life as well as in the atmosphere, this gentle quiet process is
about to become an exciting silver streaming river of transformation. I can see what will
happen where the sheets of ice tilt to the river, how the water will run across them with
speed, slip and shimmer until the river rises to meet it. Are we ready? Never. Are we
willing? Yes.
